The CD has been recorded with Cordevento and includes two concerti for sopranino, two for alto recorder and the famous concerti 'La Notte' and 'La Tempesta di Mare'. Grachtenfestivalprijs awarded to Bosgraaf & Elias

19/08/09 | The annual Grachtenfestivalprize 2009 has been awarded to Erik Bosgraaf & Izhar Elias. The prize includes concerts at the Hermitage in Amsterdam and St Petersburg in the next year.

Erik wins the Borletti-Buitoni Award 2009!
17/02/09 | The committee of the Borletti-Buitoni Trust, presided over by Mitsuko Uchida, has announced that the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Award 2009 has been awarded to Erik Bosgraaf. The prize, to the amount of £20.000, is to be devoted to matters furthering the career of the recipient. The BB Trust also provides advice and introductions in such areas as public relations, auditions and appointing managing agents as well as showcases for the winners on BBT-produced films, tours and special projects. Erik nominated for the VSCD-prize
26/01/09 | The Dutch Association of Theatre and Concertgebouw Directors awards this prize in different categories annually. For 2009 Erik has been nominated in the category musicians of the new generation. Among the other nominees are John Eliot Gardiner, Menahem Pressler and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

08/03/08 | In a few weeks recordings of the Twelve Fantasia's by German baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemann will commence. In the end of June the recorder sonatas by Georg Frideric Handel will be recorded with Italian harpsichordist Francesco Corti. Both recordings will appear with Brilliant Classics.

The magic of vinyl

23/02/08 | Rockband echos minor released its latest (and last!) album called Bad Leaves on vinyl and on the internet. Visual artist Theo Tomson was responsible for the artwork, a performance in its own right. More about the project can be found on the website of the band.

Television
19/11/07 | On the 1st and 8th of December Erik will appear on national television as guest of Dutch TV show Vrije Geluiden (VPRO). Afterwards the show can be watched online.

 

CD presentation and 10th year anniversary

19/11/07 | On the 27th of November the recorder double consort The Royal Wind Music will celebrate its 10th anniversary with the release of the CD 'A Noble Noyse of Musicke' (Lindoro). It will also be the last concert with Erik as part of the ensemble.

Movie matters...
18/09/07 | The short movie 'www.oer' will be shown at the Nederlands Film Festival in Utrecht. This movie was made by film makers Paul & Menno de Nooijer and includes music written for the occasion by Maurizio Pisati, performed by Izhar Elias & Erik Bosgraaf. Watch it online

Festivals
22/07/07 | At the end of August Erik will make his solo debut at the opening concert of the Utrecht Early Music Festival and in October he will play the opening recital at the Tage Alter Musik Berlin. He has been invited to play with Cordevento at the early music festivals of Modena (Italy) and Sofia (Bulgaria).

22/03/07 | From today the new CD/DVD ‘big eye’ – movies & music - is available. It presents the fruits of a collaboration between the duo and several vibrant film makers and composers of today. This is placed alongside pieces by prominent twentieth-century classical composers including Toru Takemitsu and Giacinto Scelsi. Cordevento touring The Netherlands in March

21/02/07 | Ensemble Cordevento, with guitarist Izhar Elias and harpsichordist Alessandro Pianu, plays twelve concerts in all major theatres in The Netherlands. This series is called 'Het Debuut' and gives Dutch audiences the opportunity to meet young promising musicians. Tourdates are to be found in the agenda.

 

BEMF performance of The Royal Wind Music
28/12/06 | The Royal Wind Music (directed by Paul Leenhouts) has been invited to perform at the biennal Boston Early Music Festival, America's largest early music festival. This concert will take place on the 17th of June in New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall.

Bosgraaf contracted to record Van Eyck
07/07/06 | Erik Bosgraaf has been contracted by Brilliant Classics to record a box of three solo CD’s with the music of Jacob van Eyck (ca. 1590-1657). Brilliant Classics is the world’s largest budget label for classical music and is mostly known in The Netherlands through drugstore Kruidvat. The box is released in commemoration of the 350th year of the composer’s death and will appear in shops around the beginning of 2007. The project is musicologically supervised by the world's leading Van Eyck specialist dr. Thiemo Wind, who has initiated this unique project.
