Erik Bosgraaf (Drachten, 1980) is generally considered to be one of the most gifted and versatile recorder players of a new generation. 'Bosgraaf's virtuosity is stunning, as is his artistry', was the conclusion of Gramophone's review of the 3cd-box that was dedicated to works from Der Fluyten Lust-hof by Jacob van Eyck. Dutch newspaper NRC wrote: 'Bosgraafs virtuosity and his doubtless understanding of every note he plays are impressive'. In 2007 he played the opening concerts of both Utrecht and the Berlin Early Music Festivals. Bosgraafs interest in the creation of new repertoire is mainly reflected in his cooperation with guitarist Izhar Elias. As a duo they premiered over 30 works written by a multitude of international composers. In addition they mix different art disciplines in their collaborations with experimental film makers. The result of this has been released on the cd/dvd 'Big Eye'  (Phenom Records), that has received wide acclaim by the international press. Erik Bosgraaf has given concerts and masterclasses in Europe, the United States, South-East Asia and Australia.
